Oji Kinocloth Develops Airlaid Combining Pulp, PLA

Nonwoven material offers thickness, softness, and humidity retention for packaging materials

Oji Kinocloth has developed an airlaid nonwoven fabric made from pulp and polylactic acid (PLA). The fabric, which is being marketed under the brand name Kinarito, is biodegradable and can be molded into packaging materials for cosmetic materials. The material ranges in thickness from 1-1.5 mm and offers breathability and humidity retention and if cushiony.

Since becoming the first company in the world to make airliad nonwovens from wood pulp in 1964, Oji Kinocloth has relied on original materials and technical know-how  to make products that are both kind to people and the environment.
